Feels So Good

Happy dining!

And to the rest of us down here on the ground, another great week of baseball in the month that matters.

The pleasure of thwarting that sense of entitlement that only Yankees fans possess is so short-lived! Worst losers in baseball?

It's going to be a great series with excellent pitching. The World Series will be comparatively hard to watch. It's my belief that once the Mets face real pitching, they're going to be in a lot of trouble.

[Joe Torre fired? WTF? We can't even unload Manuel! "Well, he plans on learning quadruple switches over the course of the next season, and we feel positive about that."*]

*Not an actual quote, but the sentiment that exists around the Phillies organization, or so it seems.

werd on all your points. i can't call this one, and i don't really want to. i'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the games: a point it seems that may be sadly lost sometimes...

here's actually a really great post that speaks to the whole topic of what baseball means to folks in the east bay and detroit right now.

Ouch...that was a tough one for A's fans. Homefield advantage = meaningless now or something?

Being an East Coaster, you don't get all those tidbits of info about the double play curse, etc. because we only get to see Red Sox/Yankees nonstop on ESPN, with other successful teams sprinkled in.

Last night was a deadly lesson in power pitching and baserunning. They need to be more effective tonight if they want to make it a series. Verlander starts are foreboding, spirit-crushing experiences, though, particularly because the ball only goes from one fireballer to another all game!

Has panic set in yet? Not having Ellis really hurts, and it seems that postseason injuries are the theme of the playoffs this year.

I'm in Australia now and it's already Saturday so I just got the news. Panic at the disco! Nah, everything's cool. The odds are long, but the team's always shown heart. Still proudly wearing my green and gold in Melbourne...
