Hawai'i Dominates Little League, Brah!

Gimme 1 large combo plate, gravy on da rice, side order poi!

West Oahu beat reigning champs Curacao to take the Little League World Series title. The Oahu All Stars took the Cal Ripken World Series last week. Both are events for 11- and 12-year olds, with the Ripken as the top prize for Babe Ruth Leagues and the Little League World Series as the top prize overall. Three other teams from Hawai'i played in World Series matches this year. Yeah buddy!

And yes, people. It's the poi.

best game of the entire series; and the West Oahu contingent had some fine Mothers, Daughters, and Sisters rootin' for the young guns on the field...but i digress. :)

If Vonn Feau has a jersey out, i gotta get it. That kid was a straight G pitching in the 7th inning. And yes, the best part about it was watching his dad who took unpaid leave off work mouth to the camera: 'das my boy!'

Today's game was almost as good as seeing Aiea win with that great kid, Vonn Veau, years' back. Anyone know where Vonn is now? Still a fan of HI Little League, Penny on Moloka'i.

did you see that grand slam when waipahu was in the first pool bracket? i did the humpty dance when i saw that shit! my nephew played against these guys this year and says they're unbelievable. cool too how the announcers in the early round were like, 'these hawai'i kids can't hit. they're all defense.' and then they lit up that whole pool and those announcers got dumped for this bracket.
